Kyaikhtiyo(Golden Rock)Kyaik-tiyo Pagoda is well known as Golden Rock. A huge boulder on which a gilded stupa was built, is incredibly balancing on a high cliff in a deep forest. Previously, for many years, the only mode of travel was only climbing on foot along the steep slopes and mountain ridges among thick bamboo jungle until the summit where holy Golden Rock, which is, situated 4000ft above sea level. It is actually very much more enjoyable journey to climb up with friends on foot although cars and buses are now easily reached to the cliff. People believe that climbing to Golden rock is soul-cleansing experience. Elderly and disabled people, also for their baggage, can hire the palanquins, carried by local men.
